Komerční banka offers secure online payments;payments using Mojeplatba service are continuously growing

Prague, 5 February 2010 - For more than a year, Mojeplatba service has been offering Komerční banka's clients a simple and secure way of paying for goods and services over the Internet. In 2009, the transactions made via this application totalled more than CZK 14 million, and in the last quarter alone they amounted to almost CZK 8 million.

More than 600,000 of Komerční banka's clients who use the Mojebanka online banking application can use Mojeplatba service. Thanks to this modern service, neither clients nor e-merchants need to open accounts with any third parties that provide online payment services.

Komerční banka continuously expands the range of its partners that support Mojeplatba service payments. Currently the most important partners include Datart.cz., Aukro.cz, Allianz Direct, Pražská energetika, Tipsport.net, a.s.

"We are pleased to see clients' interest in Mojeplatba service growing. We believe that the main reason is the fact that clients have confidence in the Mojebanka application, on which the service is based," added Mojmír Prokop, Head of Direct Banking at KB.

Payments are cleared immediately through the Mojeplatba application. If the merchant keeps an account with Komerční banka he will receive the payment in his account in a few minutes (or within the statutory time limit if his account is kept with a different bank). The payment is guaranteed for the merchant - Komerční banka also blocks the money in the client's account in cases when it is not feasible to transfer the money immediately (for example, at the time of night-time data processing or during weekends). Further, implementing the service does not require any unnecessarily extensive interventions with IT systems.
