Consumer loans are loans to natural persons for financing of their non-commercial requirements. They are mainly used to purchase consumer goods, for financing services and/or for purchasing anything you do not currently have enough money for. Komerční banka can offer you several types of loans, a detailed description of which can be found at Money for Anything section.
Yes. What is more, by consolidating loans into one, you decrease your monthly repayments and thus save on monthly expenditure. The Optimal loan is used for consolidation of loans and can be used to consolidate bank and non-bank products (consumer loans, credit cards and authorised overdrafts) provided not only by Komerční banka, but also by other financial institutions or hire-purchase companies. In terms of the KB Optimal loan, it is also possible to provide an extra amount above the level of the consolidated loans.
Creditor protection insurance is used for this situation, which is intended for natural persons – entrepreneurs. They get this free of charge to go with the Profi loan FIX. The insurance provides sole traders with cover for the risk of death, full disability and inability to work, providing entrepreneurs with the certainty that they will be able to meet their obligations resulting from a business loan in the event of any adverse situation arising.
The first investment must be CZK 5,000, but for regular investing, sending an amount of at least CZK 500 is sufficient. The minimum amount of each additional investment is CZK 500. The minimum amount of an investment into secured and guaranteed KB Akcent funds is CZK 10,000.
With a view to the fact that with open-ended mutual funds, no deposit is involved, but investment into securities, these funds are not insured. All participants do however have the possibility of constantly monitoring (e.g. via the daily press, Internet or at KB branches) how the administrator of the fund is managing their funds and if they are not completely satisfied, they can at any time ask to redeem their participation certificates.
Yes, clients of Expresní linka can conclude a framework “Contract” and purchase participation certificates over the telephone. Internet banking users can also do so via the MojeBanka.
IKS sends information about the status of assets in the participant's account (assigned to the contract) biannually or if there is any movement in the account (purchase or sale of participation certificates). Statements are sent free of charge.
Few people have such a volume of funds, information, experience and time to be able to invest on their own in different types of financial markets. By investing even a small amount in the IKS Family of funds, you have the opportunity to invest in the specific market which best suits your needs based on the level of risk and the period over which your wish to invest your money. In addition to this, when investing individually, the investor will not avoid the higher transaction costs for each individual operation.
You can arrange transfer of a participation certificate in return for consideration or free of charge (as a so-called gift). In the first case, this is a similar step to sale of the participation certificate. In the second case, the transferee should pay gift tax. In this case, what is important is the price of the participation certificate and whether or not the transfer is between relatives. More detailed regulation is stipulated in the pertinent act.
In the case of transfer between participants, a purchase or gift contract must be concluded, which must be presented to an employee of Komerční banka.
You can authorise a third party to perform operations with your participation certificates on the basis of power of attorney certified by a notary. The scope of the power of attorney can of course be determined individually. The officially certified power of attorney is valid wherever presented.
The investment strategy of all IKS funds is a growth in the value of the fund's assets, in terms of which all incomes are reinvested, i.e. invested again. Therefore, the profit is not paid out in the form of a dividend, but reinvested to become a source of new incomes, and for the fund to thus achieve the best possible results. If a participant wants to gain some of his or her funds back, he or she has the option of selling even a small part of his or her participation certificates at any time. This method is advantageous for participants from a tax point of view, because if the fund paid out profit in the form of dividends, the final income would always be reduced by withholding tax.
Tax allowances are only applied to individuals who remain in the given fund continuously for longer than 6 months. In these cases, the income from sale of participation certificates need not be taxed.
Currently (until further notice), opening fees are completely cancelled in the case of IKS funds. Fees are charged on surrender of participation certificates. On the contrary, there are no surrender fees in the case of KB funds and fees are charged only at purchase. The level of fees can be ascertained on the www.iks-kb.czwebsite, at KB branches or on the free Infoline on 800 111 066.

The following details are all that need to be mentioned: the account number in IBAN format, the recipient's name and recipient's address. The swift code (international identification) must also be stated, which is KOMB CZ PP for Komerční banka. Submission of KB Europayments or SEPA Europayments is cheaper. The conditions for these types of payments from abroad are: transfer within the European Economic Community; payment submitted in EUR (for KB Europayments up to a limit of EUR 50,000); the order must include the IBAN and BIC (SWIFT code); fees are settled by the payer and the recipient (indicated as SLV or SHA); the order must not be labelled as urgent and must be submitted without any special demands for processing. You can check the account number in IBAN format on the free information line 800 521 521.
Of course. An advantage of the product is the top quality security solution that makes use of the experience gained by leading global banks. You can use Mobilní banka to verify your account balance or transaction history, or you can use it to make payments, top up your mobile phone credit or have messages sent to you about payments implemented.
You can request activation of Mobilní banka by telephone using Expresní linka. A telephone banker will help you set up your phone and if necessary can check whether your mobile phone is compatible with the service.
Using mobile banking is simplified by the fact that for accessing your account you use the same security codes as when using the Expresní linka service (a PIN and password or an optical key card).
A credit card is a payment card which a client can use to gain permanent access to additional funds – up to his or her credit limit. A credit card can also be used to pay or withdraw cash without drawing on the client's own savings in his or her current account.
A credit card provides you with various advantages. The basic ones include:
Yes, this is a combination of a payment and credit product. You can use the card to pay and withdraw cash independently of the balance in your business current account. With a credit card, you thus easily and quickly gain funds up to a level of CZK 200,000. You can use the funds whenever you want, quickly and simply – it is entirely up to you how you use the funds and what you use them for.
You can only use your credit card if you have sufficient available credit in your account. Withdrawing funds is automatically restricted if you exceed your weekly limit, exceed your credit limit or do not make your regular minimum monthly repayments.
The interest-free period is one of the main advantages of using a credit card. If you repay the prescribed amount owing stipulated in the statement in the period from the date of issue of the credit card statement to the 20th day of the given month, we will not charge you the interest, which is stipulated in this statement.
A statement is sent free of charge on the 5th day of the month, which contains information about the overall status of the debt, history and description of transactions, level and due date of the regular monthly instalment and whether the account is being operated in line with the contractual conditions (i.e. is not delinquent) as well as an offer for gaining an interest-free period for the given month. The statement will either be delivered by post, or can be found in MojeBanka Internet banking or on Expresní linka Plus, if you have arranged electronic statements. You can also find information about the interest-free period in your credit card profile in MojeBanka Internet banking.
You can apply for a credit card at your nearest branch of Komerční banka, via MojeBanka Internet banking or by calling the free Infoline on 800 521 521 if you are already a KB client.
Contact the KB Client line. In cases when a cash machine does not issue the requested amount, it is possible that it no longer has a sufficient amount of the bank notes requested or that you have already drawn on the weekly limit, which you have arranged, or that you are asking for an amount, which exceeds the available balance in the account.
Getting a payment terminal is also of benefit to you. It has been proven that a client paying using a payment card spends an average of 30% more than a client paying in cash – i.e. this means an increase in turnover for your company. However, you also decrease your costs (savings on costs and time relating to management and depositing of cash in your current account) and increase security (decrease in the volume of cash in the business premises or when depositing it in the bank). And last but not least, you gain the increased prestige of a trader who offers his or her customers the maximum level of convenience, which could mean your gaining new customers. Technical requirements for a payment terminal are also very minor – all you need is a connection to a telephone line or to the Internet.
Insurance coverage for trips abroad is standard for international embossed payment cards. With insurance coverage plans for gold Visa and MasterCard international cards, the insurance not only covers the cardholder, but also his or her family members. When the cardholder's direct family members travel with the cardholder, they receive continuous coverage for the first 60 days (90 days for Platinum cards).
The amount is converted into USD or EUR (depending on the company, which issued the payment card) and subsequently charged to you using the exchange rate (valid on the date when such a transaction is cleared in your account) – foreign exchange rate for selling into the currency of your account.
In such a case, you can make a claim at the branch, which holds your current account, or if you are a telephone banking client, you can make this claim via Expresní linka.
Payments over the Internet are ensured using embossed cards issued by VISA and MasterCard, and Visa Electron electronic cards, which can be unblocked for online purchases by visiting a branch or contacting the bank by telephone if you use Expresní linka telephone banking. If you would like a payment card only for purchases over the Internet, we can offer you a virtual e-Card – a special payment card designed for payment on the Internet.
This means that you have exceeded your weekly limit for withdrawal from cash machines or that you have an insufficient balance in your account. If you have exceeded your limit, you can withdraw the required funds at a bank counter for the price of a withdrawal from a cash machine.
In such a case, do not hesitate and immediately call the infoline stated on the cash machine, whether it is a KB cash machine or one operated by another banking institution. If the cash machine is located in or outside a branch, please report your suspicion to KB employees without delay.
Insurance coverage for trips abroad is included in international embossed payment cards issued by KB. Yes, Brouček investment life insurance is an advantageous combination of provision of finances for the child and insurance protection for the child and adult. This insurance policy can be concluded for children from the day they are born until the age of 14. Brouček combines the possibility of achieving interesting appreciation and at the same time guarantees financial security in unpleasant situations. Other than the basic risks (death and permanent disability of the adult party insured) it is possible to also arrange additional insurance for the event of injury or hospitalisation. The insurance policy can be concluded not only by the child's parents, but also for example grandparents who can thus save for the child's future.
Risk life insurance serves mainly to protect the family from having to pay back the loan in difficult life situations. The insurance applies to the risk of death or permanent disability and covers the risk of inability to work or loss of employment. The sum insured is determined by the amount of the loan granted, and over the course of coverage, decreases as the loan is gradually paid off. Should an insurance claim occur during the coverage period, the insurance company will settle any outstanding amount of the loan with Komerční banka. If the client has arranged risk life insurance with KB, he or she can obtain a more favourable interest rate for the mortgage loan. The decision to arrange this product or not does however always lie entirely with the client.
The opening hours of Komerční banka branches are usually Monday to Friday. Some branches are also open on Saturdays. If you would like to know the opening hours of a particular branch, please contact our Infoline on 800 11 10 55. This information can be also found here.

Dividends for natural persons can only be paid out using one of two methods:
If the shareholder is represented by a different person on the basis of a Power of Attorney, the signature on the Power of Attorney must also be officially certified.
Shareholders – corporate entities – exclusively by means of cashless transfer from the account of Komerční banka, a. s., to the bank account of the shareholder or administrator as specified by the shareholder or administrator after documents required by the Articles of Association of Komerční banka, a. s. have been submitted. Required documents are understood to mean: request for payment of a dividend containing the pertinent bank details, officially certified current statement from the Commercial Register (or similar document on registration with the pertinent state authority). The signature of the shareholder's statutory body (or his representative) on the request for payment of a dividend must be officially certified. If the statement from the issue register only states data about the share administrator, the shareholder must provide a statement from his or her asset account. The bank shall not be held liable for the accuracy and up-to-date nature of data stated by the shareholder.
Address this communication (request) to the registered office of Komerční banka, a. s., or hand it over at any Komerční banka, a. s. point of sale.

The Board of Directors of the bank, pursuant to decision of the General Meeting of the bank held in 2009, shall not apply the objection of forfeiture with regards to claims made for payment of dividends for a period of 10 years from the dividends being payable. After expiry of a period of 10 years from the dividends being payable, the Board of Directors is obliged to apply the objection of forfeiture and shall transfer the unpaid part of the dividends (not taken on by the shareholders) to the account for retained profit from past years, for further decision by the General Meeting of the bank.
With change to the bank's Articles of Association at the General Meeting in 2003, it is no longer possible to send shareholders informational letters.
Further information regarding payment of dividends can be gained in Komerční banka, a. s., on telephone number 955 532 095 or at the e-mail address jiri_matyasek@kb.cz.
Phishing (also called “rybaření” in Czech slang) is any fraudulent technique used in a computer network, above all on the Internet, to gain personal and sensitive data (e.g. passwords, payment card numbers or a PIN for a payment card etc.) from the victim of the attack. The principle of the attack is to gain confidential information about the victim and to elicit the required information, which most frequently leads to misuse of the victim's identity or financial loss for the victim.
The most frequent scenario for the attack is sending out of a large number of e-mails, which appear to be official requests from an authority, bank or similar institution. These fraudulent messages usually ask the recipient to enter their personal or sensitive data into a form on a website, which the e-mail refers to. Fake websites are usually very similar in appearance to the original websites of the institutions whose identity is being faked.
Phishing e-mails or phishing websites are usually in English or full of bad Czech. You very often find phrases in them such as “miláček zákazník” (darling customer) and similar.
KB monitors attempts at phishing and takes the appropriate steps to minimise the risk, which KB clients are exposed to.
Clients must follow the security recommendations of the bank, as stated on the KB direct banking website, especially point 9.
Tip: The latest web browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Opera etc.) are equipped with anti-phishing protection.
An e-mail sent by KB can only contain a commercial or marketing communication and under no circumstances will it ask for communication of sensitive or personal information. You can learn how to act if you receive untrustworthy e-mails on the KB direct banking website in point 9.
Tip: If you suspect something may not be in order, immediately contact the KB customer support line free of charge on 800 152 152 (+420 955 551 552 from abroad).
Several methods of settlement can be used for payment on the Internet. All are regarded as safe.
For those who are new to making purchases over the Internet, it is recommended that you use the services of renowned Internet shops, which frequently represent an electronic form of the regular shops. You should certainly seek advice from people you know who regularly buy things on the Internet, who can provide you with verified references. A source of verified Internet shops is provided by the so-called pricing portals (zbozi.cz and zbozi.centrum.cz).
The globally standardised 3D Secure solution is used for secure card transactions, which is supported by the largest card companies Visa and MasterCard. The customer can recognise whether a trader supports the 3D Secure standard by the following logos:

Tip: For payments over the Internet, use the E-card product – a virtual payment card. It is advisable to limit the maximum payment limit.
