UNIkarta is intended for:

  • students and employees of universities, which cooperate with Komerční banka and issue the UNIkarta as an identification card
  • the UNIkarta is currently issued to students and employees of the following universities:
    • Brno University of Technology (VUT)
    • University of Hradec Králové (UHK)
    • Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (UJEP)
    • Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno (JAMU)
    • Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (ČZU)
    • Silesian University in Opava (SLU)

Characteristics of the UNIkarta:

  • a combined university identification and payment card
  • a unique solution for the everyday requirements of students and employees of universities
  • issued by Komerčníbanka – the only bank in the Czech Republic to do so
  • a multifunctional card, which serves as:
    • an identification card for university and also possibly as an ISIC card
    • a Maestro electronic payment card
  • activation of the payment function is necessary for use of the UNIkarta for payment
  • activation can be performed by telephone, in person at a KB branch or via the internet (only for Brno University of Technology)
