Jan Vejmělek has been the Chief Economist of Komerční banka since December 2010. Jan joined Komerční banka in 1998 as a securities market analyst. Since 2002, he has held the position as Head of Economic and Strategic Research in Komerční banka’s Investment Banking. Jan primarily focuses on macroeconomic analysis of the Czech economy and on the forex market.
Jan Vejmělek has graduated from the Faculty of Finance and Accounting of the University of Economics in Prague (majoring in Finance and, in addition, Economics of Industrial Enterprises). In 2003, he completed a doctoral programme in Economic Policy and Management, specialising in Finance, at the same faculty. Between 2004 and 2006, Jan completed a postgraduate programme on a distance learning basis at CFA Institute (the US).
Following his short stint at the Czech National Bank, Viktor Zeisel has been a senior economist at Komerční banka since 2013. Viktor analyses the Czech economy’s development and is in charge of forecasting the country’s economic development. He has graduated from Charles University, majoring in Economic Theory, and also holds an MA from CERGE-EI.
Marek Dřímal joined KB’s Economic and Strategic Research in 2011. His position is that of an economist and in addition to the general macroeconomic situation of the Czech Republic, he mainly specialises in analyses of the governmental sector: the fiscal policy, the national budget balance, and the public debt. Marek also covers the market of Czech government bonds and interest rates in the Czech economy and prepares strategic recommendations. He also comments on the developments in markets and in foreign economies. Marek Dřímal has graduated from the University of Economics in Prague, majoring in Economic Analysis.
Since 2015, David Kocourek has been a senior economist at Komerční banka, specialising in analyses and forecasts of the Slovak economy’s development. David came to Komerční banka from the Czech National Bank at which he had worked, with a short pause, from 2008 in the External Economic Relations Division and then from 2012 in the Macroeconomic Forecasting Division. David graduated in Economic Policy from Masaryk University in Brno.
Jana Steckerová has been with Komerční banka since January 2014. In addition to the Czech economy, she monitors the macroeconomic situation in the CEE region. Earlier, she spent a number of years in a similar position at ING Bank. Jana has graduated from the University of Economics in Prague, majoring in Business Administration.
Miroslav Frayer has been with Komerční banka since 2006 when he filled the position as analyst of the Slovak economy and financial markets; he also monitored economic development in the whole Central European region. Miroslav transferred to the equities team eight years later and is currently analysing certain Czech companies and the global equity markets. He communicates with the media and clients on a regular basis. Miroslav Frayer is a graduate of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting of the University of Economics in Prague.
Richard Miřátský joined Komerční banka in 2016 as a securities market analyst; he is currently analysing certain Czech companies and the global equity markets. Before joining Komerční banka he headed an analytical team at the Dagong Europe Credit Rating agency in Milan and as a senior analyst covered Central European energy utilities at Moody’s. He also held various analytical positions at Citibank and HVB (now Unicredit). Richard has graduated from the University of Economics in Prague and also holds an MBA from the University of Delaware in the US.
