The financial gifts, which will be used for helping the municipalities affected by recent floods throughout the country, amounted to a total of CZK 492,018 at the end of the three-week fundraising. In addition, Nadace KB Jistota will provide another two million crowns. A part of the funds was promptly delivered to mayors of four southern Bohemian towns and villages that suffered damage by the floods.
Protivín, Husinec, Heřmaň and Přední Zborovice have therefore received funds for renovating houses, infrastructure and municipal property damaged by the floods. Laurent Goutard, KB CEO and Peter Palečka, KB Deputy CEO, also attended the donation ceremony together with Jaroslav Říšský, Chairman of Nadace KB Jistota Board of Trustees, and one of its Trustees, Sylva Floríková.
"Komerční banka is well aware of the massive destruction that the affected municipalities have to repair, and I would therefore like to express my appreciation of our employees' great solidarity. Councillors of these towns and villages have greatly appreciated mainly the quick help they have received from Komerční banka," said Laurent Goutard.
Support for affected municipalities will continue through Nadace KB Jistota. Financial assistance will be allocated to all parts of the country that have been damaged by the floods. “We are now discussing provision of help to other municipalities damaged by the floods," added Jaroslav Říšský.
