"Using payment cards for Christmas shopping is a very comfortable approach. But we want to offer something more to our clients: goods bought using a KB personal credit card will be automatically insured against theft and destruction and clients will also receive an extended warranty period for such goods," says Jozef Ryšavý, Head of Marketing Planning and Price Management. "We are also aware that clients often do not use their payment cards because they have difficulties remembering the PIN. To make it possible for every client to adjust their payment cards to reflect their own specific needs, we will also offer the option of PIN change on KB's ATMs and, moreover, clients' own card design free of charge for the first year," adds Jozef Ryšavý. Clients will be able to use the special Christmas offer until the end of this year.
On 1 November 2009 KB will also introduce some new changes to its Price List. The fee for the above-standard Premium konto package drops from the current CZK 325 to CZK 299 per month, whereby the package becomes one of the most attractive offers on the market. The Duo konto package, intended for business owners' personal needs, will newly contain a current account, a payment card, and phone and Internet banking with electronic account statements, and the package will be maintained free of charge for holders of any business package.
The fees for automated payments will be unified for individuals and businesses; this means that CZK 6 per payment will be charged in the case of standing orders, direct debit payments and automatic transfers.
The fees will be increased for certain specific operations that cause the bank considerable costs and for which clients can use more advantageous alternative options. KB will increase the fee for cash deposit in a third-party account from the current CZK 50 to CZK 75. In the case of these simple operations, it is always quicker, more comfortable, and much less expensive for the clients to use a direct banking channel. A new charge will be introduced for queries about account balances sent through ATMs: an amount of CZK 2.50 in the case of KB's ATMs, and CZK 10 in the case of third-party banks' ATMs. We recommend that clients continuously keep posted about their accounts via Internet banking or SMS messages. In this way, they will not need to go to an ATM to find their account balances while having information about movements in their accounts immediately at their disposal.
"The above changes to the bank's Price List are based on our long-term strategy. We take a comprehensive view of the clients and their needs, and offer alternatives. Clients can combine various options to suit them best, and change them to reflect their needs, thereby optimising their banking service costs," explains Jozef Ryšavý.
