PC banking, used by KB's corporate clients (the Profibanka, Přímý kanál and Multicash services), has become the second most popular direct banking channel. Users made 44.8 million transactions (down by 4% y/y) via this channel last year. The drop in the number of transactions through applications used by corporate clients was mainly caused by clients' lower economic activity in the period of recession; in fact, the number of clients using this service remained constant in comparison with 2008.
Transactions in the Mobilní banka application in the mobile telephones of KB's clients rose the most in percentage terms in 2009. From the keyboard of their handsets, users made a total of 140,000 transactions (up by 41.2% y/y). However, despite its dynamic growth mobile banking continues to be the least important among direct banking channels, accounting for approximately 0.15% of total direct banking transactions.
The number of transactions made using one of KB's direct banking services is rising every year. While in 2004 KB's clients made somewhat less than 75 million transactions without going to a branch, in 2007 it was as many as 90 million transactions. Thus, Komerční banka and its clients will attack the mark of 100 million online transactions using direct banking this year.
