This year Komerční banka has also followed up on its successful CSR activities. In April it organised the spring part of voluntary blood giving for the KB Group's employees. More than 94 litres of the most valuable fluid were given by 209 employees in 11 towns and cities of the Czech Republic.

Komerční banka has been organising blood giving since 2008. In spring and autumn, its employees therefore have opportunities to help save human lives. More than 200 blood donors used this year's first occasion, which was organised in co-operation with health institutions in Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Plzeň, Olomouc, České Budějovice, Hradec Králové, Jihlava, Zlín, Liberec and Ústí nad Labem.

"In the light of the favourable experience last year we have expanded the opportunity for voluntary blood giving to include some more towns and the donors' interest has shown that it was a correct decision. I greatly appreciate how important the possibility to help other people is for the Komerční banka Group's employees," said Henri Bonnet, Komerční banka Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board.

The health institutions' responses to Komerční banka's activities have clearly been positive, and not only because of the fact that the Czech Republic is lagging behind the European average as regards free blood giving and that the number of blood donors registered in the country is decreasing every year.
