Effective as of 1 January 2011, Komerční banka has significantly extended its Ombudsman's competences. Corporate clients, clients of KB's branch in Slovakia, and clients of certain companies in the Komerční banka and Société Générale Group in the Czech Republic will now also be able to seek help from KB's Ombudsman.

From the beginning of 2011, clients of Komerční pojišťovna, Modrápyramida stavební spořitelna, Penzijní fond Komerční banky and ESSOX can turn to KB’s Ombudsman with their disputes and difficulties. For the future, KB envisages extending the Ombudsman’s competences to cover some more companies of the Group in the Czech Republic.

“In 2004, Komerční banka was the very first financial institution in the Czech Republic to offer clients an opportunity to seek help from its own Ombudsman. I believe that our latest decision to extend our Ombudsman’s competences to include also corporate clients and clients of other companies in the KB Group will again help to move the quality standards of financial services in the Czech Republic forward,” said Henri Bonnet, Komerční banka Chairman and CEO.

“Our effort it to reach an amicable settlement of a variety of contentious issues, for the tackling of which the standard directives and tables frequently do not suffice. Today’s emphasis on satisfying all financial needs of clients within a single financial group also requires that broader powers are vested in the Ombudsman so that across the Group, the client not only receives the same level of service quality but also enjoys the same rights in the addressing of contentious issues, should any arise,” says Joseph Franciscus Vedlich, Komerční banka’s Ombudsman.

Mr Joseph Franciscus Vedlich has held the position of KB’s Ombudsman since December 2009.
