Komerční banka has been supporting high-quality art projects for a long time. One of them is the traditional Music Day (La Fete de la Musique), which was first organised in France by the Ministry of Culture as early as 1982. This year, more than 100 countries will join this Music day, which is celebrated annually o June 21st.

The main purpose of the Music Day is to enliven public areas in the centres of cities by making it possible for musicians of all kinds, ages and professional status to perform in public, and so delight both the targeted visitors to the event as well as passers-by.

We celebrate the Music Day at Société Générale’s head office in Paris and also at Komerční banka’s head office in Prague, at the Na Příkopě Street. We have intentionally created a mix of genres which fans of different music styles will be able to enjoy. Musicians, some of whom are employed at KB, will perform inside and in front of the foyer of Komerční banka’s head office building,” says Henri Bonnet, KB Chairman and CEO.

On 21 June, all visitors will have an opportunity to enjoy the following performances at Komerční banka:

  • 11 a.m. – Soprano Gabriela Jelínková, accompanied by piano
The young promising soprano’s 20-minute recital inside the foyer of Komerční banka’s head office building at Příkopě 33, Praha 1
  • 2 p.m. – Larika Group
A 30-minute performance of this nine-member ensemble, whose non-traditional music style is known as rocksteady, in the arcade of KB’s head office building
  • 3 p.m. – Sběrné surovosti Group
A 30-minute performance of this five-member ensemble that plays a broad repertoire ranging from rock to jazz to traditional blues, in the arcade of KB’s head office building

By joining the Music Day, Komerční banka underlines the great importance that is ascribed to art across the Société Générale Group. The objective of its participation is to share its relationship to music with employees and clients.
