Komerční banka retains its title of the Bank of the year for 2012

Komerční banka has retained the prestigious title of The Bank of the Year for 2012. A jury composed of several dozen experts has voted the bank as the overall winner of the awards. Komerční banka has won for the fifth time in the 11-year history of the Fincentrum Bank of the Year awards. Komerční banka Group reached the winners’ podium in six categories of the 13 announced.

In 2012, Komerční banka has confirmed its excellent stability and its ability to finance the Czech economy even at this time of the economy’s weaker performance. We have improved our capacity to offer bespoke products across Komerční banka Group, and launched several very attractive innovations, including mobile contactless payments in an extensive network of domestic retailers. Komerční banka Group was successful in six of the 13 announced categories:

  • Komerční banka is the overall winner and has won the title of The Bank of the Year 2012, placed second in The Most Trustworthy Bank of the Year and The Mortgage Loan of the Year categories, and third in The Bank without Barriers category, in which banks’ approach to disabled citizens was assessed.
  • Modrá pyramida stavební spořitelna placed second in The Building Society of the Year category.
  • Penzijní fond Komerční banky placed third in The Pension Fund of the Year category.

Komerční banka Group’s success in the Fincentrum Bank of the Year 2012 competition testifies that the large number of awards that the bank has received throughout 2012 have been justified. In the third quarter of 2012 alone, for example, its title of The Best Bank of the Year 2012 in the rating conducted by the Hospodářské noviny daily newspaper and its success in The Friendliest Bank of the Year 2012 category and in The Banking Innovator of the Year 2012 category, in which both Komerční banka and Modrá pyramida stavební spořitelna were placed among the top three, have confirmed its reference position on the Czech market.

Komerční banka has also won the title of The Most Desired Company 2002-2012, awarded by students in the Sodexo Employer of the Year competition. Komerční pojišťovna was named The Insurance Company of 2012 in the Czech Republic in the prestigious economic magazine World Finance’s international rating, thereby following up on Penzijní fond KB’s success in the first half of this year.
