The Lady Card and the A Card from Komerční banka are among the most popular cards on the Czech market. In one year since they were launched, more than 30,000 clients have opted for these credit cards, which are packed with extra benefits. Komerční banka has sent more than CZK 8.2 million in rewards to the bank accounts of the clients who also have a private pension scheme with Penzijní fond KB.

The Lady Card and the A Card credit cards’ primary magnet is the opportunity to obtain rewards sent to private pension accounts. Komerční banka sends a reward of 1% of every payment made with a card at a retailer to the cardholder’s account kept with Penzijní fond KB. KB has contributed more than CZK 8.2 million to these credit card holders’ pension in this way.

“Compared with advanced EU countries, credit cards are still used only little in the Czech Republic. However, their popularity as a comfortable payment instrument is growing significantly. In addition, at Komerční banka a credit card can also be an effective way of saving, whether in the form of discounts on everyday shopping or in the form of rewards for the retirement age,” says Pavel Filipi, head of Retail Banking Marketing at Komerční banka.

For both credit card types, clients can obtain a credit facility of up to CZK 30,000 without having to prove their income. Various special offers provide additional benefits. At present, the first 200 clients who arrange for a Lady Card on-line at www.ladykarta.cz can receive free subscription to Elle or Marianne for 6 months.

Thanks to the unique suite of supplementary insurance policies, which Komerční banka’s credit cards contain free of charge, the card holders are protected against a number of events that can complicate life. In addition to a policy covering purchases and an extension of the warranty period, a policy covering the delivery of the goods bought online and a policy covering cancellation of admission tickets, clients will also obtain useful assistance services, the Lifestyle service and the Home Assistance service, with their cards.

In the first year since launch, 15,915 clients have obtained a Lady Card, the first card on the Czech market to be developed especially for women. Thanks to all of these benefits, the Lady Card placed first in Hospodářské noviny’s The Best Bank of the Year 2011 competition in the Bank Innovator category.
