Komerční banka has long been focusing on support for business and small and medium-sized enterprises. In this context it has therefore decided to join the largest project geared towards assistance to Czech craftsmen, The Year of Crafts 2016, which has been launched by the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Crafts of the Czech Republic [AMSP]. In addition to a financial contribution totalling almost CZK 2 million, including direct financial grants to the various guilds, KB has also prepared an advantageous offer of free Profi účet account keeping.

“Focused on business finance service provision for a long time and traditionally, Komerční banka has actively joined support for AMSP’s project, The Year of Crafts 2016. The reason is that we share the view that the development of crafts in this country should be assisted. In this connection, we have decided to offer all craftsmen a bargain package of basic banking services, i.e. the Profi účet business account, free of charge for two years. Across-the-board and long-term support for sole traders and firms is a fundamental activity that differentiates us from the ‘new banks’,” said Radek Basár, Deputy Executive Director for Marketing and Communication at KB.

In addition to the special product offering for craftsmen, Komerční banka will also follow up on the financial support provided since 2014 to selected craft guilds under AMSP’s Rooting for Crafts project. In 2016, KB will provide financial support to all professional associations that have joined The Year of Crafts. The bank will help them support specific craft feats of the year. The Year of Crafts also includes the launch of the largest Czech craft-related website targeted at end consumers, www.mistriremesel.cz.

The Year of Crafts 2016 project will run under the auspices of the President of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, and Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic, and in partnership with Komerční banka, Mediatel and the MAFRA publishing group. For the first time ever, 23 guilds, associations and societies that bring together 35 professions in building and food-agrarian crafts have decided to support the project and to cooperate.
