With regard to the events related to the war in Ukraine caused by Russian aggression with the involvement of Belarus, Komerční banka complies with all embargoes and sanctions, in particular with measures imposed by the United Nations, the United States of America, the European Union or the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Komerční banka has long been committed to rigorous risk management, compliance with sanctions obligations, measures against the legalization of proceeds from criminal activity and the financing of terrorism, as well as the principle of social responsibility.

Since the situation is volatile and the consequences of the conflict in Ukraine are particularly serious, all payment transactions (regardless of their currency) directed to the territory of Russia or Belarus represent an extraordinary security risk for the further handling of transferred funds. For the stated reasons, Komerční banka has decided to adopt this sanctioning measure, in addition to the legal sanctions and in accordance with Article 7.4 of the General Business Terms and Conditions:

  • If Komerční banka does not allow otherwise in a specific case, from 1 March 2023 until further notice, the processing of all payment transactions directed to the territory of the Russian Federation (Russia) and the Republic of Belarus (Belarus) will be completely restricted, regardless of the currency of the transaction. In the same way, Komerční banka is entitled not to accept payments from these territories, or the processing time of incoming transactions may be significantly extended due to their detailed screening.

Legal measures of Komerční banka are not affected by this sanction measure and will be observed in full scope.
