Demand for loans from Komerční banka rising before Christmas as usual

Record demand for consumer loans from Komerční banka peaked in November. Every year, the number of people who use consumer loans or credit cards to finance their needs in the pre-Christmas period is rising. Nor is the demand for mortgage loans slackening; demand for them has been continuously high this year.

Komerční banka has presented its new KB EU POINT concept. It is a set of comprehensive advisory services for those interested in contributions from the European Union's Structural Funds, which will be fully available to the public from January 2008. Applicants for EU contributions can receive, in parallel with the advice, funds for pre-financing and co-financing the contribution as part of a special credit scheme, Ponte II.

Komerční banka is the first major Czech bank to sign an agreement on accession to SEPA non-cash payments. In this way it has confirmed its readiness to offer clients, beginning the second quarter of 2008, non-cash money transfers denominated in the euro under uniform European standards.

Komerční banka has prepared a special Christmas offer for its clients: Between 19 November and 31 December 2007 the interest rate on the popular No Risk Loan is lower by more than one percentage point. Clients will therefore save more than CZK 10,000 on a loan of CZK 250,000 payable in 72 months over the period of maturity.

New FDIs on Komerční banka's ATMs significantly improve payment card holders' security

Since the end of September Komerční banka has been installing protective covers on payment card readers in its 660 ATMs. The plastic cover on the card slot will protect ATMs against the installation of illegal devices that can copy data from payment cards' magnetic strips (known as skimming).

Komerční banka reports accelerated growth in revenues and profit for first 9 months of 2007

Komerční banka released today its consolidated financial results under IFRS(International Financial Reporting Standards) for the year to 30 September 2007. KB Group recorded an increase in net profit of 19.4% compared to the same period of 2006 to reach CZK 8,142 million. Among the main drivers for the strong growth were the acquisition of Modrá pyramida stavební spořitelna (MPSS) in October 2006, a rising net interest income and an increase in income from financial operations. The favourable development of the Czech economy also helped to keep the cost of risk low. KB Group further improved its cost-to-income ratio to 45.8% and confirmed its leading position among Central European banks as measured by operating efficiency.

A few days ago Komerční banka took another step to markedly increase the availability of loans for small businesses, thereby confirming its leadership on the SME market. Komerční banka's student payment cards are the only cards on the market to offer the client's own design and change of PIN

Also students have recently been given the opportunity to design the appearance of their payment card. In June KB was the first bank on the market to launch payment cards with the clients' own design. In September the bank extended this offer to include also students. KB is therefore the only bank in the Czech Republic again to offer students the opportunity to design and select the PIN of their payment card.
