The coronavirus crisis has thwarted the fully-fledged festival but the organisers decided to interconnect the musicians and fans live and online in certain towns. Six days, six towns, five unique concerts, and the festival. This was Rock for People Home, a unique project of the Rock for People festival and MALL.CZ, which resounded throughout the Czech Republic between 15 and 20 June. Being the General Partner, Komerční banka could not be missing, naturally.
The concert series took off on 15 June, with performances in five Czech towns and cities: Prague, Plzeň, Pardubice, Ostrava, and Kutná Hora, in the yards of certain partner breweries of last year’s RfP. Separate special concerts of well-known Czech bands and musicians – Gaia Mesiah, Pokáč, Vypsaná FiXa, Kapitán Demo and John Wolfhooker – took place directly in a mobile live jukebox, with the fans themselves selecting each of the musicians’ songs. Tens of thousands of viewers savoured live performances with capacities for up to 300 visitors thanks to the live stream at MALL.TV
The last concert of the Rock for People Home tour took place on 20 June in the Festival Park in Hradec Králové. All of the above artists were singing and playing there in conventional festival settings in this area, which was adjusted for 500 visitors, on an open-air stage created from a hangar.
