Characteristics of SEPA instant payments

  • They represent a fast, real-time transfer in EUR between accounts held at banks within the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and are credited to the recipient's account within seconds of being initiated by the payer.
  • Both the payer's bank and the recipient's bank must be participating in the SEPA Instant Payment Scheme and must be available at the time of payment processing - List of registered banks for SEPA Instant Payments.
  • SEPA Instant Payments can be made at any time of the day or night, regardless of holidays or public holidays.
  • The maximum amount for a single SEPA instant payment is EUR 100,000, with the option to set your own (lower) limit for a single SEPA instant payment order or a cumulative daily limit for SEPA instant payments (up to the Entity Limit).
  • They can be executed via electronic banking (Profibanka application, authorization also possible via KB SKyline) on online forms or by importing batches of orders in XML format or via the Payment Initiation Service.
  • Entering the payment is as easy as for standard SEPA payments – just enter the same information as before and select the instant processing speed (on the online form, select the Instant payment option in the check box and, when importing, enter the code word "INST" in the section: <PmtInf><CdtTrfTxInf><PmtTpInf><SvcLvl><Cd>INST</Cd>.
  • If a SEPA instant payment is rejected during processing or cannot be sent as a SEPA instant payment, it can be sent as a standard SEPA payment or a SEPA priority payment.
  • The bank provides a verification of payee
