Mastercard Bank of the Year 2022
We became Mastercard Bank of the Year 2022. In addition to the main title of Bank of the Year 2022, we defended our first place in the Corporate Bank of the Year category and won the Bank without Barriers award. At the same time, we also won 2nd place in the categories Private Bank of the Year, Responsible Bank of the Year and Mortgage of the Year.
Sustainable Bank of the Year & Corporate Bank of the Year 2021
We received a total of four prestigious awards during the award ceremony of the 20th edition of the annual Bank of the Year Awards for 2021. According to a panel of expert judges, we took the first place out of 14 nominated banks in one of the main categories – Corporate Bank of the Year. We also won the Sustainable Bank of the Year award, with jury focusing on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. And finally, we were awarded third place in the Mortgage Loan of the Year and Private Bank of the Year categories.
The Association of Social Responsibility ranked us among the TOP 10 large Czech companies that live for sustainability. ESG Rating focuses on all three areas represented by this acronym – on the environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities of a given company.
TOP Responsible large company and prize for sustainability reporting
The platform for sustainable business in the Czech Republic, Byznys pro společnost, annually awards companies that are serious about their sustainability and responsible business. In other words, those that are long-term and strategically dedicated to the development of sustainability, have a positive benefit for employees and society, reduce their impact on the environment and bring innovative solutions.
In the TOP Responsible Company competition we won two awards this year: the TOP Responsible Large Company category and the prize for Reporting in the field of sustainability.
As part of this competition, in 2021 our CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Jan Juchelka, won the title of Top Responsible Leader of the Year for the field of sustainability. The award is given to an individual, who significantly contributed to the development and promotion in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainable business practices and may serve as a model and inspiration to others.
We scored in the jubilee 20th year of the Zlatá koruna (Gold Crown) financial products competition. We won first place in the Green Crown category for our Loan to finance a photovoltaic power station. Our other products also scored in the competition: the second place in the category Leasing for entrepreneurs was won by the product Profi Auto, and the bronze medal in the category Business loans was won by the Profi Loan.
A banking innovator
From the announcement of the Hospodářské noviny Visa Best Bank 2022 awards, we received an award in the Banking Innovator category. Our initiative to share ATMs with MONETA Money Bank, which brings more accessible services to our clients and, as a result, energy savings, was successful in the public vote. In the meantime, other banks have joined and we now share more than 2,000 ATMs. KB Pojišťovna also won two prizes.
MSCI ESG a S&P SAM
We are regularly evaluated by the rating agencies MSCI ESG and S&P SAM, which evaluate the sustainable approach of companies and the comprehensive impact of business on society and the environment. In the MSCI ESG rating, we jumped from BBB score to AA in 2022.
FTSE4Good Index Series
We are the first Czech bank that, since 2018, has been part of one of the world's main indices of socially responsible companies - the FTSE4Good Index Series. The index is compiled by FTSE Russell (The Financial Times Stock Exchange Group). The FTSE4Good Index Series identifies companies that are active in their approach to environmental protection, maintaining a high level of social and corporate governance. The measurement is carried out on the basis of globally recognized standards.
Within the FTSE4Good index, we moved four tenths forward from last year's rating of 3.3 points to 3.7 points (out of a maximum of 5 possible points).
