Although they may look the same to you, there is a big difference in the way they work. The main one is in the money used.
Debit Card
You receive a debit card from your bank with your current account. When paying with it or withdrawing cash from an ATM, you use your own money.
Credit card
When paying with a credit card, you use your bank’s money. You can spend up to a certain limit and then you have an interest-free (grace) period of 45 days to pay the money back to the bank.
