  • The PayPhone app is a great solution for sole traders and small businesses as an alternative to cash payments.
  • Simply install it on any mobile phone with OS Android (version 8 or higher). It cannot be activated on Apple devices!

Product parameters

  • With PayPhone, you can only accept Mastercard and VISA payment cards.
  • The app only supports contactless payments.
  • No receipts are printed – customers receive an email or QR code.
  • There are no monthly fees associated with the app.
  • Transaction costs adhere to the MIF++ scheme; consequently, the percentage fees consist of the following three components:
  1. Transaction processing fee – it is charged by a payment terminal service operator – i.e. KB SmartPay in this case – and it amounts to 1.45% of each transaction; this fee covers the operation and servicing costs.
  2. Issuing bank fee – this fee varies for credit and debit cards (it is regulated for personal payment cards; however, not for business payment cards).
  3. Card association fee (e.g. Visa or Mastercard) – this fee varies for credit and debit cards and for domestic and foreign payment cards.
  • PayPhone is subject to the terms and conditions of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MPO) – in case clients have not accepted cards of any provider in the past 12 months, they can use this product free of charge for a year (with monthly turnover of up to CZK 50,000).
  • Your relationship manager will arrange an appointment with a KB SmartPay sales professional.
  • Once a contract is signed, you will receive an email (within 48 hours) with instructions and access codes for the app.
  • Download the app from the Google Play Store and sign in using your access codes.
  • Register in the SoftPOS portal at to activate the app.
