Frequently asked questions

API (Application Programming Interface) is an environment that allows Komerční banka to securely transfer information about accounts, payments, and other KB products to third-party applications.

Yes, since we would like to know, who is going to use our data. This will allow us to configure the production environment parameters better. You need not worry – the registration process only requires minimum of your information.

Yes, they are. Only if you have special requests – such as higher SLA or enriched data – you need to contact us at api@kb.cz and we will find a suitable solution for you.

Your company must comply with all requirements foreseen by the PSD2 and relevant legislation of the Czech National Bank. In principle, it is first necessary to meet specific terms and conditions and apply for a license with the Czech National Bank; you can then register at our API portal.

KB is currently working intensively on a direct access to own accounts of legal entities and individuals via API (without PSD2 license). It should be available to clients once the PSD2 transitional period ends during the second half of 2019.

It most certainly is – security is our top priority! All third parties will be validated by Komerční banka to ensure they comply with security and technical requirements for connection. Moreover, third parties will always have to identify themselves with valid certificates that guarantee their unambiguous identification.
