FTSE4Good Index Series

Komerční banka is the first Czech bank to be, since 2018, part of one of the world’s leading indexes of socially responsible companies, FTSE4Good Index Series. In June 2020, the bank improved its position in the index again, thereby demonstrating the international standard of the quality of its environmental protection, social care, and risk management. FTSE Russell (The Financial Times Stock Exchange Group) produces the index.

„Komerční banka approaches society, its own employees, and the environment with respect and the maximum responsibility. In the FTSE4Good Index Series, we have achieved better values than the average of the other world banks included in the indexes. I believe that our latest steps, such as the gradual departure from the financing of coal extraction and combustion, intended to reduce the carbon footprint, the accelerated financing of projects with a favourable effect on the environment, and also a fair approach to our employees and our high standards of business transparency and ethics, will help to further improve the environment in which we are working and living.”

Jan Juchelka, Komerční banka’s Chairman and CEO

London Stock Exchange Group owns the FTSE Group (nicknamed Footsie). FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to identify companies that demonstrate strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices measured against international standards.

Index FTSE4Good is one of the tools for investors that wish to align their portfolios with their values and seek to invest in companies that meet high standards of sustainable business.
