Komerční banka accepts cheques for collection payable with any global bank that cannot be paid immediately after their presentation, handling their collection process for you. This usually concerns:
- Private (corporate) cheques
- Bank cheques where drawer’s signature cannot be verified or other conditions are not met
- Traveller’s cheque
- Cheques presented as part of inheritance
- Other cheques
Cheques presented for collection are normally settled after the receipt of payment from another bank; however, not before the 16th business day after they are presented for collection
The cheque must be submitted at least 7 business days prior to the expiry of the cheque validity period. The validity can be restricted by a clause (for example, saying “valid for 180 days”)
Issue date is shown on a cheque; standard presentation deadline usually does not exceed 6 to 12 months from issue date. Older cheques may also be accepted for nonbinding collection; however, the probability of settlementis low
In case KB is informed by a foreign/domestic bank that a cheque is not honoured by drawee, KB shall notify the client and cancels any payment already made (if any)
All bank expenses are charged to cheque bearer
