New rules applying to the use of structured addresses for SEPA and foreign payments payments – MultiCash

As of 20 June 2026, there will be a change in how address data is transmitted for SEPA payments and foreignl payments. You will newly be required to enter a structured address in a specific format.

What you need to know as a MultiCash user

In the current versions of the MultiCash application (3.2x and 4.0x), addresses cannot be entered in a structured format

However, there is no need to be alarmed – the bank will convert the address into the required structured format for you.

What do you need to do to ensure the bank structures the address correctly?

To ensure your payment order can be processed correctly, it is necessary to fill in the address completely and accurately, in line with the following format:

Foreign payments

  • The first line, and possibly the second line, is for the Payee’s name. The third line is for the Street and the Building Number; please specify the Post code on the fourth line, followed by the Town. There is a separate field for the Country
  • Based on the aforementioned information, the bank will convert the address into a structured format required by the new standards.

SEPA payments

The payee’s address is not mandatory for SEPA payments. However, if you choose to enter any part of the address, you must include at least the Town and the Country.

  • The first line, and possibly the second line, is for the Payee’s name
  • The third line is for the Street and the House Number; please specify the Post code on the fourth line, followed by the Town
  • There is a separate field for the Country.

What this means for you

  • There is no need to install a new version of the MultiCash app.
  • You do not need to make any changes to how you fill out payment forms.
  • The bank will handle the technical aspects and automatically convert the address into a structured format

Why this change is being implemented

The introduction of a structured address is part of an international standardised payment format that:

  • Increases the accuracy and speed of processing;
  • Reduces the risk of errors or returned returns; and
  • Meets the requirements of European and global banking standards.
