KB and Rock for People: Long-Term Partnership

Rock for People, specifically its seventh edition with Komerční banka as its General Partner and its twenty-seventh overall, took place in Hradec Králové from 8 to 11 June 2023. Around 37,000 fans arrived to attend the festival, which had first been held in Český Brod back in August 1995 with about a thousand visitors. This year’s event has been the largest ever in terms of the number of visitors, featured international stars, fringe entertainment options, and other activities within the venue, and the diversity of the beer and food options available. This year, Komerční banka offered a unique space to festival visitors, KB FutureFest Zone, and the TV show Rock for People up Close through the Eyes of Czech Television that allowed TV viewers to have a glimpse of the festival atmosphere.

What was Rock for People 2023 like?

The venue was designed for up to 40,000 visitors. Apart from 130 concerts and other events and entertainment options, the festival also offered superior comfort and visual design of the venue spaces.

In addition to its headliners that included Slipknot, Machine Gun Kelly, The 1975, and MUSE, this year’s Rock for People edition featured many unforgettable performances, such as Billy Talent, Papa Roach, Nothing But Thieves, Palaye Royale, Mod Sun, Stand Atlantic and Alice Merton.

PKF – Prague Philharmonia got the people moving

The concert given by PKF – Prague Philharmonia was a huge hit. Komerční banka, its General Partner, invited the orchestra to the festival. The Clarinet Factory ensemble performed under the baton of Maestro Marko Ivanovič. PKF - Prague Philharmonia actually performed twice during the festival. The second performance was given by a string quartet on the smaller Solar Stage at Thursday/Friday midnight.

Future of festivals - KB FutureFest 2030

Komerční banka’s and Visa’s zone became the place where visitors spent most of their time, as also confirmed by the festival’s heat map generated on the basis of the data collected from festival wristbands. A presentation of sustainable solutions and activities outlined the future of festivals and outdoor events for visitors and confirmed the Rock for People commitment to become one of the most sustainable European festivals.

Reuse materials and sustainable features, an attractive live programme on two stages, and an entirely energy self-sufficient space were the festival’s hallmark. The Solar Stage was powered by a unique photovoltaic system, with a hydrogen generator supplying power to another part of the venue, including the Conference Stage.

The zone that offered countless inspiring lectures and performances over the four festival days met with great success with the visitors. The line-up included Lukáš Hejlík, Toy Box, Prokop Pithart, Ben Cristovao, Ferdinand Leffler, Taste of Prague and Jitka Haubová, who presented fashion innovations and clothing made of greenhouse gases with a LAFORMELA designer and the IMMINENT product studio.

No cash!

In cooperation with NFCtron, Rock for People 2023 was completely cashless again. An NFC wristband was the official ticket and the only payment instrument accepted at the festival. Komerční banka’s clients were able to enjoy fast track services and a dedicated top-up point in Komerční banka’s zone, where KB Visa card holders could top up their festival wristbands with a bonus of up to CZK 200.

Six days before the festival gates opened, ticketholders had the opportunity to exchange their tickets for festival wristbands at Komerční banka’s Wenceslas Square branch, with financial bonuses available for the first 100 visitors or those paying with a KB Visa card. This option attracted 660 festival fans to the branch.

We hope to see you in Hradec Králové from 13 to 15 June 2024!
