Safer login from unknown device

Cronto code is like a colored QR code. The image carries encoded information which can be retrieved by machine (typically by a camera) and further processed. It has been part of the login from the beginning, for the case of an unavailable internet connection. Now we are only extending its capabilities with additional security features.

Phone is connected to the internet:

1. Open the KB Klíč and select „Scan colour code“.  
2. Aim the camera at colour code on your computer.  
3. Once the colour code is scanned, the login will be done automatically. Exceptionally, if the phone is not connetec do the internet, you will have to do next step (4).
4. KB Klíč generates the number. Enter this number into the active field on computer monitor and confirm button „Continue“.

Phone is NOT connected to the internet:

1. Enter your username into the field on login page and select the option: „Device is not connected to the internet“.
2. Open the KB Klíč and select option „Scan the colour code“ 
3. Check the information in the form of your computer.  
4. Aim the camera at colour code on your computer.  
5. Phone will scan the code and creates a number.  
6. Enter this number into the active field on computer monitor and confirm button „Continue“. If you enter correct number, you will be logged in.

Your phone is connected to the internet:

1. When trying to login, the page will show a colour code.
2. Open KB Klíč and select “Scan the colour code”.
3. Point the camera at the code on your PC screen.
4. After the code is scanned, the login process will continue in a standard way – confirm login by PIN or fingerprint/FaceID.

Your phone is not connected to the internet:

1. After entering the necessary data, click on “Mobile phone is connected to the internet?”
2. Open KB Klíč and select “Scan the colour code”.
3. Point the camera at the code on your PC screen.
4. The app will scan the code and return a number combination.
5. Enter the number on the login page. Afterwards, you will be logged in.

To scan the code you need to grant KB Klíč the permission to use the camera. In some cases, the app itself will ask you to give the permission. If not, you can enable them in device Settings – under Apps – here select KB Klíč and then Permissions and under this menu enable camera.

If you repeatedly enter the code incorrectly, it will he blocked. To unblock it, just open KB Klíč and click on Enable colour code. Then go through process and confirm the unblocking.

Rather you do not have to. In most cases, the display of colour code is only relevant for new/unknown devices. 

Then you are not the user of KB klíč and scanning of colour code is not important for you.
